生葉/namaha

収穫直後のお茶の葉のことを生葉と言います。
収穫直後から生葉は酸化が始まり、そのままでは烏龍茶や紅茶のように変化してしまいます。
緑茶にとっては、素早く茶工場に運ぶことも大切な作業のポイントです。

Tea leaves immediately after harvesting are called 生葉(namaha, raw leaves).
生葉 start to oxidise after harvesting and if they are left untouched, they will turn into oolong or black tea.
For green tea, it is important to transport them quickly to the tea factory.
